Learning Letters with Watercolor Resists

Every morning, students start their lesson at Paradise by reciting the English alphabet and listening to fun phonics songs. This week they created water color resists using letter stencils to reinforce what they are learning in class. Students chose which letters they wanted to draw and then made the phonic sound and named something that started with that letter. They drew each letter with a wax crayon and they painted over the image with watercolor to create a resist. When they were finished they shared their work with each other and tried to think of more things that started with each letter in the painting.
