We were so excited to hand out sketchbooks to the children living at one of the shelters on the island of Samos. Students started using their sketchbooks right away to draw some of their favorite things about summer. They read a book about the beach with their teachers at the Paradise school and used drawing as a way to practice some new English vocabulary. Sam, a teacher with Samos Volunteers, demonstrates how to draw a crab after reading the book.
And of course, we had lots of fun drawing our favorite flavors of ice cream...and even inventing a few new ones!
